Living in the WOW

The Talking Book

Every chapter ends with a conversation.

What it means for readers, authors and publishers, shown with Day 2 of 14 Days to Living in the WOW, the companion to Betsy's upcoming book Living in the WOW. In the full book, every chapter will close with a live conversation: Betsy's own voice, answering only from her book.

Why it matters

One book, three winners

Anything that reaches a reader by text or email happens only with their permission.

For readers

The book talks back

  • Talk with Betsy the moment a chapter moves them: Betsy's own voice, answering only from her book.
  • Get coached through the day's practice out loud, not just read about it.
  • Opt-in nudges by text or email: "Day 3 starts tomorrow," milestone cheers, a 14-day companion.
  • Share their own WOW story, with permission. It could end up in the next book.
For the author

Closeness, at scale

  • Every reader gets a personal moment with you.
  • Know your readers: questions, themes, dreams, which chapters land, where they stall.
  • A content engine: top questions become episodes, keynotes, posts and the next outline.
  • Your own audience: a permission-based list from real conversations, not a retailer's.
  • Speaking pipeline: book clubs and event planners meet you first, and interest is captured.
  • Stories and testimonials, collected with permission, for the next book and launch.
  • Your voice and your boundaries, approved by you.
For the publisher

A new format for print

  • The print book stays the same. A QR code makes it talk.
  • First-party reader data, chapter by chapter, something print has never had.
  • Smarter calls on launches, sequels and series, from real reader demand.
  • A direct, opt-in line to readers for series, backlist and events.
  • Works on books already in print: inserts, bookmarks, stickers, reprints.
  • New paths: premium or coaching editions, book-club editions, courses, partner programs.
  • The author can "attend" every book club.
  • Brand-safe: author-approved voice, topic guardrails, privacy-first data.

  1. Reader conversations

Readers talk with Betsy at the end of each day.

"What if my bold ask feels selfish?"
  2. Themes & questions

The dashboard groups what readers ask and feel.

Worthiness, on Day 2: Ask Boldly
  3. New content

    The top questions become:

  4. More readers

Each piece points back to the book, and new readers start new conversations.

And the circle starts again.

Examples are illustrative.

Questions

What publishers ask first

Does the voice stay on topic?

Yes. It’s Betsy’s own voice, answering only from her book. Betsy approves the material and sets the boundaries. If a reader raises a crisis, it points them to 988 and real help.

What about reader privacy?

Follow-ups by text or email happen only with the reader’s permission. The author sees anonymized themes, not who said what.

Does it work on books already printed?

Yes. A QR code can go on an insert, a bookmark, a sticker or the next reprint.

How do we start?

With a pilot on one book.
